With fall approaching and the days shortening, this is an ideal time to ensure that your Honda vehicle is fully serviced and running in top condition. Here are just a few of our top tips for things to check out:
- Take a look at your fluid levels on a regular basis. Surprisingly, a recent survey shows that almost one-third of car owners don't bother to examine their engine oil, coolant and windshield washer fluid levels. That sounds like a recipe for easily-avoided and expensive repairs to us.
- Examine your tire's treads to make sure they've got enough life in them, and check for any uneven wear. Monitor your tire pressure monthly, but make sure to give the tires time to cool down after driving.
- Check your battery. If you find any corrosion on the posts or cable connections, go ahead and scrape it away -- making sure to avoid contact with any corrosive deposits or battery acid. If you can remove the battery caps, check the fluid level monthly -- like at the same time you're checking your tire pressure.
- Examine all of the lights, and replace any bulbs that have burned out. To clean the lenses, wipe with a moistened (never dry) cloth or towel.
