When traveling with cooked food during the holidays, there are a few things to do to keep your vehicle safe from spills - and things that you don’t want to do. Gillman Honda San Antonio wants to keep your travel safe as well as your food.
Do:
- Do put your food items in stable crates or boxes.
- Do keep liquid-based items on the bottom.
- Do use lock-tight containers.
- Do transport hot food within two hours of being cooked.
- Do stack the entrees evenly to avoid any toppling over.
Don’t:
- Don’t transport hot and cold food items together.
- Don’t pack food items in the car until 15 minutes before departing.
- Don’t stack any food containers on the seat.
- Don’t snack on any foods while driving. (We know it’s tempting!)
- Don’t drive above the speed limit to avoid spillage or a ticket!
Even if you’re only driving locally in Selma, Texas, we urge you to use caution. Wishing you a happy start to all of the holiday season’s festivities!
