The North American Truck of the Year is awarded every year at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The prestigious NATOTY award is not tied to a single publication or media outlet, but is instead determined by an independent group of journalists from the US and Canada. These experts take into account innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value to decide which truck is the leader in its class. This is the second time that the 2017 Honda Ridgeline has won the 2017 North American Truck of the Year award, winning the first time in 2006.
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline also was the only pickup to be awarded 2017 Top Safety Pick+ [1] rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when equipped with available front crash prevention and LED headlights, proving that this mid-size truck is a standout.
