Many years ago, Honda released an ad touting a new version of the Honda Accord, and because of the commercial’s unique nature it went on to become one of the most adored and memorable ads that the automaker has ever produced. Now, thirteen years later, Honda revived the ad with a parody spot lauding the benefits of using Honda Genuine auto parts.

In the original, Honda used a number of random parts that could have been found in any Honda car at the time, all in an effort to build a fantastic Rube-Goldberg machine that would point its way to the aforementioned Honda Accord. In the new spot, Honda used knockoff parts to recreate the Rube-Goldberg machine, only to have it fail within fifteen seconds of starting.

It’s a funny and interesting twist on a classic, but it also does a nice job driving home an interesting point. Using Honda Genuine Auto Parts for regular maintenance and repairs absolutely is the way to go for Honda owners in and around San Marcos, TX, as they are the only parts that have been built by the same people who built the vehicle itself. That ensures that the car holds up as long as possible and drives the way it’s supposed to. We don’t expect a Rube-Goldberg disaster, obviously, but using the right parts does go a long way toward smooth sailing.
