There are a number of new features on more recent Honda models that make drivers’ lives a whole lot easier, including Smart Entry and push-button start/stop. Not every Honda car has these features, but most trims beyond the base models do, and since we know some Gillman Honda San Antonio customers have never worked with these little technologies before, we thought we’d go ahead and show how easy they are to use.
For starters, rather than a key, drivers are given a Smart Entry remote, and all that is needed to unlock or operate the vehicle is having that little fob in your pocket. Once you’re within 32” of the vehicle, it will automatically unlock, and the car just opens when your hand touches the sensor inside the door handle. It works better without gloves, but that’s an issue that really should only pop up for Selma drivers if they’re visiting colder parts of the country.
Opening the trunk works the same way. Just get within 32” of the vehicle with the remote in your pocket, then press the button just above the license plate. Should you mistakenly leave the remote in the boot upon closing the trunk lid, the car just beeps a few times and then re-opens so you can retrieve it. Isn’t modern technology delightful?
As for the push-button start/stop feature, it’s as easy as pushing in the brake (also the clutch in vehicles with manual transmissions) and then pushing the button. The same goes for turning it off. Just get the vehicle back into park and hit it again.
Here at Gillman Honda San Antonio, these features are available for our customers, and they’re designed to make your driving lives easier than ever.
