When Honda made its first efforts to reintroduce the 2017 Honda Ridgeline to the model lineup, they did so by traditional means, airing commercials and allowing the return of the midsize truck to dominate social media feeds, but one unique way in which the brand marketed the pickup was through a contest the automaker dubbed “Camp Ridgeline,” the fruits of which are taking place in our own backyard this coming weekend.

The contest was a draw to get people to request more information about the 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup through the brand’s official website, and some customers would have their names entered into a drawing to win a trip to—where else?—Camp Ridgeline, a test-driving experience set up at Rio Cibolo Ranch in San Antonio, TX.

While there is no actual “Camp Ridgeline” on a map, the special driving experience would allow ten sweepstakes winners to enjoy a three-day, two-night stay in the area, complete with hotel accommodations, meals, and of course travel, though that would not have been such a big deal for folks living in Schertz or New Braunfels, TX.

In any event, the camp is set up as a “ride-and-drive experience,” according to Honda, and gets underway May 21 at Rio Cibolo.

Here at Gillman Honda San Antonio, we know that there’s a special place in the heart of Texan drivers for a good pickup truck, which probably has something to do with why Honda would choose our neck of the woods as the setting for what is sure to be a really fun event. As your Honda dealership, we only wish we were taking part in the festivities, too!
