“Dependability” is a magic word in the auto industry, first and foremost because consumers want to make sure that their hard-earned money goes toward something that’s going to stand up to the test of time. Everybody’s heard a horror story about a good car gone immediately bad, but here at Gillman Honda San Antonio, we like to think that the vehicles we sell hold up a little better than average.

In fact, this year’s J.D. Power & Associates Dependability Study actually proves that certain Honda models are reliable beyond just those early, easy-going years of auto ownership. The 2013 Honda Fit, for example, was named the top automobile in the Small Car segment this year, which goes a long way toward proving just how dependable Honda automobiles can be.

For those unfamiliar with the study and curious as to why a model from years ago is taking home a current accolade, J.D. Power uses a number of criteria to judge vehicles that are three years old. Almost all cars do well fresh out of the gate, but the truly excellent autos are the ones that get past the rigors of those first 36 months. The Fit, for what it’s worth, would make a great purchase as a used or certified pre-owned vehicle based on these results. Furthermore, those considering buying a new Fit, even though it’s been completely overhauled since 2013, will be able to live with the peace of mind that it is a model that tends to stick pretty close to its original working order for considerably longer than the competition.

As your Honda dealership, we love selling automobiles that prove dependable to so many customers. That magic little word has fueled Honda sales for years, and with accolades like this that isn’t likely to change any time soon.
