If a month goes by where the Gillman Honda San Antonio blog doesn’t post something flattering about the new, completely-updated 2016 Honda Civic, then there’s a good chance that someone on the writing team either messed something up horribly or grew deathly ill. For about a million different reasons, this is a truly great car, and one of the new iterations was so strong in terms of driving entertainment that it recently was named to a collection of top non-performance compact cars that offer surprisingly strong performance.

More specifically, Motor Trend published a list of what they consider to be the “12 Quickest Non-Performance Compact Cars,” taking hot hatches and sport compacts completely out of the picture and turning their attention toward models not necessarily built to be monsters on the pavement.

Still, some of these cars do ultimately prove rather fun to drive, and Honda offers one of them in the new 2016 Honda Civic Touring model. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood of this gorgeous upgraded sedan is capable of jumping from zero-to-60 mph in a rather impressive 7.2 seconds, and it also can run a quarter-mile in just 15.5 seconds at 92.4 mph.

In other words, it’s a surprisingly fun car to drive, which is great considering how many other excellent qualities this vehicle offers San Antonio drivers in terms of technology, efficiency, safety, comfort and spaciousness.

Consumers who buy performance cars do so because they perform well, but this new Civic is nice because it serves all the purposes one expects from an everyday vehicle but throws in the performance stuff for free. That sounds like a good deal to us, because this particular Honda Civic really is a fun one to drive.
