Within a few years it was actually exporting Honda models to Japan, and by 1989 it was the best-selling car in America, the first time in our nation’s history that such an honor was earned by a brand not stationed in Detroit.
Since then, ten million Honda Accord models have been sold in the U.S., making it one of the most successful automobiles ever devised and certainly one worth celebrating as we hit the 40-year mark of its existence.
