January is an awesome time for people who love cars because that’s when the Detroit Auto Show, one of the largest and most hotly-anticipated automotive exhibitions of the year, finally gets underway. It is here that American consumers can get their first look at some of the new and exciting things happening in the world of cars, and this year Honda has something extra fun planned in the re-debut of the 2016 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck.

According to Honda, it’s a model that will “challenge conventional thinking in the midsize pickup segment,” though at this point we don’t know enough details to determine how that statement will come to fruition. As your Honda dealership serving Universal City, what we here at Gillman Honda San Antonio can say is that it’s certainly notable to see Honda return to pickup trucks, and with the midsize pickup segment taking off industry-wide, we would have to think that much of the competition is shaking in their boots.

What we do know about the vehicle, other than the fact that it will debut in Detroit on January 11th, is that it features a pretty traditional profile, at least from the lone teaser image put out by Honda late last month, but it also would be reasonable to expect plenty of excellent interior flourishes and a whole slew of infotainment and advanced safety technologies. In other words, all the things people love about the Honda cars and SUVs, they should also love about an updated Ridgeline.

“We developed this new Honda Ridgeline to offer something new and fundamentally better suited to the way many buyers use their truck,” said Jeff Conrad, senior VP and GM of the Honda Division, in a press release. “Ridgeline will deliver everything you’d expect in a Honda from incredible packaging and fuel-efficiency to top safety technologies and innovative, segment-first features. We’re honored to once again debut the Ridgeline in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.”

And, of course, we here at Gillman Honda San Antonio are honored to know we soon will be selling it!
