We here at Gillman Honda San Antonio have been talking up the completely-redesigned 2016 Honda Accord for a really long time at this point, but we can’t help it. When the best-selling model in the brand’s history comes out with so varied and anticipated a batch of new cars for its generational upgrade, dealerships can’t help but get a little excited. Now, we’re starting to see the first advertisements for the new Civic trickle out, starting with a fascinating and visually-pleasing spot Honda is calling “The Dreamer.”
It’s only a 30-second ad, but a lot gets accomplished in this time, starting with the face of what we presume is an engineer, from which the idea of the new Civic spills forth onto a road built from imagination. Slowly, as the car’s beautiful outer shell traverses along that road, more and more of the insides are added, until finally what results is the new car itself. Honda also enlisted the band Empire of the Sun for the commercial, using their song “Walking on a Dream” as the appropriate soundtrack for the ad.
The ad campaign for the new vehicle will extend beyond television spots, however, which are expected to run through March. Honda also just officially debuted their Snapchat account to help push awareness of this hot new model and there are plenty of other ways that they’re getting involved with social media and internet advertising, as well. The efforts to spread the word about the new Civic are widespread and varied, but that’s a good thing for a brand hoping to make sure that the Civic not only stays relevant but reinvents the segment with some of the most interesting vehicles in its classes. That part should be easy, as long as all this marketing keeps sending new customers through our doors.
