The entire Honda vehicle lineup is full of all-stars, but the Honda CR-V certainly is one of the heaviest hitters we sell here at Gillman Honda San Antonio, as it remains the best-selling SUV in the industry. That’s not just among crossovers, by the way, which would be an accomplishment in and of itself. The 2016 Honda CR-V literally is the top-selling SUV currently in existence, and that’s a testament to just how fantastic an automobile it really is.
Honda engineers apparently weren’t happy with it just being the best in its classification, however, as they have put together a new Special Edition of the latest version of CR-V, and for a modest price it drops a number of nice extra features onto the base LX trim, making it an affordable upgrade (not to mention an official Special Edition) over the standard version of the automobile.
For only an $800 premium, Honda drivers can add larger 17-inch wheels, tinted windows, a unique two-tone paint job and a security system. When one considers just how little $800 is when stretched out over the course of a four-year or five-year loan, it really is a reasonable expense for all the extra goodies.
While the LX is the base trim on the popular CR-V, this Special Edition slots just a touch ahead of that trim, though a little under the EX. Still, it’s an affordable way to tack on some slick extra features and turn the country’s most popular SUV into a machine more than worthy of its sales numbers.
