It used to be that finding a good green car was just about the most challenging thing in the world, because while all of the early models offered exceptional fuel economy, many of them were experimental in design and, for the most part, also pretty small in order to squeeze the most distance out of a tank of gasoline.

That, of course, has changed significantly over the course of the last decade or so, and now there are more great green vehicles available than ever before, especially in the current line of Honda automobiles.

While there are surprisingly many to choose from, the 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid is currently our most popular option, and based on the success of the non-hybrid version of the car, we're not totally surprised by that.

What did pleasantly surprise us here at Gillman Honda San Antonio was seeing the new Accord Hybrid mentioned among Kelley Blue Book's list of Top 10 Best Green Cars. Rated in order of tested miles per gallon, the Accord Hybrid was actually one of only two models in the top five to offer a true hybrid engine rather than an all-electric drivetrain, meaning in terms of fuel efficiency it's among the top two in the industry for gas-electric hybrids.

Beyond that, though, this great Honda car offers excellent technology, top safety scores, gorgeous aesthetics and a comfortable, spacious interior, so the green aspect of the car isn't the only thing to love about it. Green driving has never looked this good or been this practical. Also, frankly, it's never been this green.
