There are a million different reasons that consumers continue to make Honda one of the best-selling brands of automobile on the face of the planet, and there’s no question that safety is one of them. Honda cars and SUVs are very often some of the safest vehicles in the industry, and so far the 2015 model year autos have done nothing but boost that reputation.

The 2015 Honda CR-V, in particular, recently earned praise from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, who awarded the popular crossover with a Top Safety Pick+ designation. Already the best-selling SUV in the industry, the new CR-V comes into the new model year with a complete redesign, which means the IIHS was obligated to run the updated vehicle through their stringent series of crash tests. The results were overwhelmingly excellent, hence the terrific results.

More specifically, the 2015 Honda CR-V earned top marks of "Good" on all five of the IIHS’s major crash tests, which is the first criteria in earning the TSP+ designation. The other is that a vehicle include some sort of front crash prevention technology, and the new Touring trim on the CR-V offers just that.

Whether you're buying the brand new version of the car or a used Honda CR-V, Honda vehicles are always among the safest in the industry. The 2015 CR-V, however, is the safest version of the car ever made, and the solid praise from a respected agency like the IIHS goes a long way in convincing our customers that safety remains a major priority for Honda.
