We here at Gillman Honda San Antonio often talk about how the vehicles well sell are among the safest on American roads, and thanks to a slew of recent tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, we can continue to tout that new Honda cars are truly elite when it comes to safety feature and crash test scores.
To be more specific, four 2016 model year vehicles have earned the coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation from the IIHS, including the 2016 Honda CR-V, 2016 Honda Accord Sedan, 2016 Honda Accord Coupe and the recently-redesigned 2016 Honda Pilot. The 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan, meanwhile, also was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick, giving Honda five models that have recently dominated the stringent tests put on by one of the industry's most respected safety organizations.
Those wondering why the 2016 Honda Civic isn't on this list need not fret, as its absence only is a testament to its not having been tested yet. Also completely redesigned, the new Civic has earned top marks on several recent crash tests from both the IIHS and the NHTSA, and according to a press release from Honda, there is every expectation that those vehicles will be named either a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+, as well.
To earn these lofty designations, vehicles must score top marks of "Good" on most or all of the tests performed by the IIHS. That's exactly what these Honda models have done, and as your Honda dealership we're thrilled as ever to see it. Safety matters greatly to both us and our customers, and we'll be thrilled if these Honda models continue to get top marks every year the IIHS performs their tests.
