When it comes to automotive brands, consumers tend to get hooked into one particular nameplate that has for years done right by them. Over time, it's not surprising to see certain brands sell more than other certain brands when those are the ones that have proven to be the most dependable.

Every year, J.D. Power & Associates takes a closer look at that dependability in their aptly-named Dependability Study, which for two decades has considered how well vehicles have held up over three years of ownership. The recently-released 2015 study, for example, considers 2012 model year vehicles three years later, and total scores are assessed based on the number of problems consumers have reported per 100 of those automobiles in the survey.

Honda, which always performs well in these types of studies, impressed again—coming in at second among non-luxury brands. In whatever light one wishes to hold the accomplishment, it's no secret that Honda models are among the most dependable in the industry today, but it's always nice to have the numbers to actually prove it.

With only 116 problems reported per 100 vehicles, Honda finished well below the industry average of 147 problems per 100 vehicles, which is great news not only for people who may be looking to trade in their older Honda model for a more up-to-date Honda model, but also people who may be interested in purchasing the certified pre-owned version from the Gillman Honda San Antonio pre-owned inventory.

It's a good thing to be considered dependable by consumers, and this most recent J.D. Power Dependability Study shows that Honda is still in the good graces of consumers.
