Say whatever you want about all the other accolades that exist for automobiles these days, but the Car & Driver "10Best" list is one of the toughest honors to earn and certainly one of the most prestigious to win.

Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of America, Honda Motor Co., Inc said "We're honored to receive this award, which recognizes the exceptional engineering and driving performance that have helped make Accord a perennial top choice of individual American car buyers."

Because the Accord is one of the best-selling automobiles on the planet and because millions of people already own them, Car & Driver likens the handing out of this honor to someone giving McDonald's an award for being a good fast food restaurant. Everybody knows McDonald's is a successful fast food chain, and they have been seemingly forever, but that doesn't mean they aren't award-worthy.

The latest version of the Accord is the same way. Car & Driver credits the vehicle for doing all of the little things right, for being a car that doesn't make a big deal about itself, yet upon close inspection proves to be one of the finest-crafted autos on the face of the planet right now. Best-sellers are best-sellers for a reason, after all, and we're glad that in this instance consumer demand matches up with what the good people at Car & Driver deem worthy of recognition.
