Plenty of people grew up participating in sports at their local YMCA facilities, whether it was swimming, soccer or basketball. Chances are pretty good that many of the people who spent some time on the court or in the pool or on the pitch at their local Y walked away from the experience with an improved sense of teamwork, extra self-confidence and some really good memories.
Knowing all of this, we here at Gillman Honda San Antonio are proud to have gotten ourselves involved in a financial partnership with the Schertz YMCA, specifically to sponsor a number of youth soccer teams in area YMCA leagues.
There are a number of soccer opportunities offered at the Schertz YMCA, which serves the greater San Antonio area, and they're available for both boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 12. The only time in which these outdoor activities are not offered is during the winter--not because of the fear of snow fall (this is Texas, after all), but because those aren't typical soccer seasons nationwide.
Fall registration for YMCA soccer runs through September 11, so it's not too late to contact the Schertz YMCA and get your child registered for a great season of youth sports. If they're lucky, they may end up being one of the lucky few that actually get to wear the Gillman Honda logo on their jerseys, and that’s just fine with us. You never forget the teams you played on when you were a kid, and we're absolutely hoping that this is true in regards to these young people proudly wearing the name of their friendly neighborhood Honda dealership jersey across their chests.
