This new Honda vehicle operates with a standard 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine in the LX and EX trims. That engine delivers 158 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 138 pound per foot of torque at 4,200 rpm. However, if you're craving a bit more power, that's where the Civic EX-T, EX-L and Touring trims come in. Each of those offers a 1.5-liter turbocharged DOHC 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, cranking out 174 horsepower and 162 pound per foot of torque. Meanwhile, the entry level 2016 Honda Civic LX comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but offers the option for a continuously variable transmission, which is standard on the Civic EX and above. And while both the LX and EX include 16-inch wheels, the top three trim levels all rely on 17-inch alloy wheels.

2016 Honda Civic Safety and Special Features

Honda takes safety seriously in all of its vehicles. For the 2016 Honda Civic, part of that means using an advanced compatibility engineering body structure. In other words, the design provides greater protection for the driver and passengers in the event of a frontal collision by distributing energy from the crash more evenly throughout the body. Other conveniences and special features that are standard on all five versions of the 2016 Honda Civic include Bluetooth streaming audio, a security system with remote entry and trunk release, and a 5-inch color LCD screen.
