Car Leasing FAQ at Gillman Honda San Antonio

When it comes time to drive off the lot of our Honda dealership serving San Marcos, TX, drivers have a couple of different ownership options: buying and leasing. You likely already know what comes along with buying a new Honda car, but we know that for a lot of drivers, there are questions and uncertainty when it comes to leasing a car. Luckily, our friendly finance experts here at our Honda finance center are happy to answer any questions you may have about the car leasing process. Here are some of the most common.

What is a Car Lease? A simple way to think of a car lease is similar to a long-term rental. You don’t actually own the car, but you pay a monthly fee to the bank, which is the true owner of the car.

How Long Does a Car Lease Last? Car leases typically last two or three years.

What Happens After the Lease Ends? After your two or three-year term has come to an end, you’ll have a couple of different options. If you like your Honda car so much you can’t bear the thought of getting rid of it, you can choose to purchase it from the bank. Your second option is to return your leased car to our dealership, which is a quick and easy process. You’ll then have the option of leasing a brand new Honda vehicle from us.

Are There Any Restrictions? Leases typically have mileage restrictions that range from 12,000 to 15,000 miles. Lessees are expected to return the vehicle with minimal damage inflicted.
