Staying Safe in the Rain

Did you know that more than 1.2 million auto accidents occur during wet or rainy conditions each year? Being an informed and cautious driver can prevent you from becoming one of those statistics.

One of the first things that you should do when you experience rainy conditions on the road is to remove cruise control. You should reduce your speed immediately, although you should definitely avoid slamming your foot on the brake. Start by removing your foot from the gas pedal. You should try to leave as much space as possible between you and any cars in front of you to prevent fender benders. If you do have to brake quickly, make sure to keep your head looking in the direction that you want to go so that you avoid spiraling out of control.

Come into Gillman Honda of San Antonio to get your car serviced and ready to take on rainy roads.
