The Differences Between Rear-Wheel-Drive and Front-Wheel-Drive

When you are first considering buying a new vehicle, you probably know the size and style you like the best. However, it is equally important to decide if you need a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or front-wheel-drive (FWD) vehicle. But what are the differences between the two?

A RWD vehicle offers a rugged design that will take abuse without usually requiring expensive repairs. A vehicle with RWD will also have good balance because the drivetrain weight is spread evenly from the front to the rear. If the road conditions are hazardous because of weather, though, an RWD vehicle will not have good traction. An FWD vehicle is less expensive because the manufacturing process is cheaper, and it also offers good traction in inclement weather.

Regardless of the type of wheel drive you are considering, Gillman Honda of San Antonio has all the top models of each drive type. Come see our staff members to browse through our inventory and test drive a vehicle of your choice.
