I just wanted to take a few minutes to express my heartfelt appreciation for one of your employees, Mr. Woodard.  He assisted me in purchasing a 2012 CR-V on Monday 07/23/2012.

If I may, allow me to put something into perspective for you so that you can truly understand where I am coming from.  This marked my 5th automobile purchase since I was 21 years old (I am 39 now)...you can imagine I have been in and out of numerous dealerships in the past 18 years and have interacted with many different individuals.  I can honestly and sincerely tell you that I have NEVER, EVER had such a pleasant and positive experience purchasing a vehicle, EVER, until I walked through the doors at Gillman Honda.  Many thanks to Mr. Greenfield for pairing me up with Mr. Woodard. My brief encounter with Mr. Greenfield was pleasant and sincere-that certainly set the tone for the rest of my
evening.
 
The ENTIRE car buying experience from beginning to end was absolutely AMAZING.  For the 1st time I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of or judged and/or, to be quite frank,  screwed (for lack of a better term).  Mr. Woodard was professional but personal and approachable at the same time (not typically my experience with car salesmen,unfortunately).  He listened to me.  He actually listened to me.  He put me at ease and assured me he would take care of me and he did just that. I walked into your dealership on Monday already defeated, having already seen disappointment at 2 different dealers (not affiliated with the Gillman Auto Group). Mr. Woodard did not give up on me, the deal, or the sale. He went above and beyond to get me into my gorgeous new Honda CR-V.  He didn't HAVE to do anything for me but he did everything and MORE and I could not have been more satisfied. I want to commend Mr. Woodard on a job well done. I hope you know that he is truly an asset to your organization.
 
I understand that your General Manager, Mr. Davis was involved by Mr. Woodard in making this deal happen.  Although I never got to meet Mr. Davis, I want to praise him and thank him for his role in this as well, because he, too did not have to do anything to help me but he did.
 
I would also like to mention that your Finance Manager, Mr. Anthony DeLaPaz was great to work with.  He made that part of the buying process remarkably pleasant.  Kuddos to him!
 
I know things happen for a reason and I know that I was turned away that day by those two Chevy Dealerships because there was bigger and better waiting for me...I just didn't know it at the time...until my encounter with Gillman Honda & Mr. Woodard. I went as far as responding to those two dealerships-thanking them for not wanting my business because it allowed me to deal with this World Class organization, Gillman Honda.
 
Let me conclude with this...
 
I am a single mother of an eight year old daughter.  It's been just her and me from day one.  It has not always been easy, but it's been worth every second having the privledge of being her mom.  I want to share something with you...Imagine having to find the words to explain to your visibly upset, crying, scared eight year old why someone would go into a movie theater and kill innocent people.  And so one of the many hard conversations began.  I delicately explained to her that unfortunately there are some bad people in this world who do bad things but that equally there are great people who do great things.  Thank you so much for being the concrete example I gave my daughter about the great people in this world.  I was able to restore her faith (and mine, too) and make her simply understand when I told her, "See Jadyn...how great these men have been, how they have helped us get into a great new car, remember when Momma told you there are great people in this world, too...not just all bad guys? Well, Mr. Woodard is one of those people.  The other men here are great people, too."  She got it- she understood and her response to me was, "Yes, Momma they are and we need to come back here and buy another car from them!" Priceless.
 
You truly have created an exceptional organization and have surrounded your business with an amazingly genuine staff.  You should be so proud!  You are not just in the business of selling cars and that is positively apparent.

You have gained a customer for life and I will certainly tell everyone I know how GREAT Gillman Honda is- and how great Mr. Woodard is- and all of your staff! Top Notch Class Act!

Yesterday I purchased my second vehicle from Gillman Honda of San Antonio! It was an exciting event on so many levels. When I arrived I was not certain what I was looking for-I simply wanted a new car with that "new car smell." Kevin met me on the lot and quickly made introductions and welcomed me to Gillman. The 23 year old salesman was quick, efficient, knowledgeable and most pleasant. He and his "mentor" manager assessed my needs and priorities. The vehicle had to be black and a stick shift. They had it! The ONLY one on the lot-a black 2012 Civic 4-door SI. Manual shift with all the works! I traded in my black 5-speed 2010 Fit which I lovingly named "Fitnie," and drove off the lot like a teenage boy. This new Civic is named "Civvia" pronounced with a spanish accent. She is beautiful, sexy and can handle the road. Kevin was more than a salesperson in that he did not come across as pushy, aggressive or in a hurry to sell a car and move on to his next sale. He spent several hours with me as the contract was drawn up and financing was arranged. During this time he demonstrated all the key elements of the vehicle from under the hood, the interior and the trunk and tire space. I truly believe I knew "Civvia" better than "Fitnie" when I departed the dealership. Kevin was so fantastic and eager-to-please that he even preset my radio station favorites for me and demonstrated each of the features. Hugh, who completed the paperwork for me 18 months earlier when I bought "Fitnie" remembered me and was just as remarkable as before. He showed me how my previous 17.63 percent finance charge was reduced to 11.99 percent due to my improved credit and my payments are only $58 dollars more per month! Finally, "Fitnie" was financed at 72 months and "Civia" is financed at 61 months! I feel on top of the world right now. I do miss my Fit though. She was a wonderful vehicle. Hopefully whoever buys her next will give her the same TLC that I gave her. Thank you Kevin and everyone at Gillman Honda San Antonio. I will be back again.

I just brought my car in for an oil change and then went to the service department inside with a complaint. I, and you, had the good fortune that I spoke with Jeff Smith. My complaint was such that I was prepared to take all of my and my family's future auto business elsewhere. Mr. Smith immediately addressed my concern, with no excuses or redirection, and went well beyond what anyone could possibly expect. Within a minute of my initial complaint to him he had completely changed my mind and calmed me down. He obviously understands that anyone can sell a car, but the service afterward is what keeps customers coming back. I will be coming back after this. Mr. Tom Holstlaw has been assisting me over the last 3 weeks in purchasing a car for my high school senior son. I would like to commend and compliment two of your service reps at the Honda section of your I-35 Schertz location (Gillman Honda of San Antonio.) My wife, Valerie Rice and I have purchased an Odyssey van from you and have one other Odyssey from another dealer. We get all our service done at Gillman Honda of San Antonio. Dan and Oscar are two of the nicest and most professional service reps I have ever encountered. I have had two timing belt replacements done, one by each, and many routine services. They always go out of the way for me and bend over backwards to help me out. I have a long background in the hospitality industry and know the value to an organization of front line people. They are "directors of first impressions." There is a lot to be said for just being plain nice and friendly, they are both role models for the above. Gillman is lucky to have reps like them! It is great to be treated with respect and dignity in an era where so many companies act like they are doing you a favor to help you! I would come back to Gillman even if I wasn't totally happy with a service just because of Dan and Oscar!

Dear Mr. Smith,

This note is long overdue, but I wanted to tell you how pleased I was with the service provided by employees in your Service Department at Gillman Honda of San Antonio, primarily Matt Gornall.

On Friday afternoon, June 4, 2010, I started my Honda CR-V but could not get it out of park. One or more cautionary lights appeared on my dash, but I no longer remember which ones they were. I spend about 10 minutes in a hot parking lot, trying everything I could think of, but nothing worked. I called Matt Gornall, who has been my Service Advisor since I bought my car in December 2006. Matt asked me a few questions and told me that he thought the problem was with my brake light switch. He walked me through using the shift lock release to get the car out of park, and cautioned me to drive carefully since I wouldn't have brake lights and wouldn't have some other feature I would normally have (I think it was the vehicle stability assist). Matt also warned me that if I put the car in park, I would have to go through the same process again.

I knew it was Friday afternoon, but I also knew I didn't want to drive the car any longer than I had to in its current condition. As soon as I was able to put the car in drive, I drove to Gillman Honda of San Antonio. I arrived shortly before 3pm, fully expecting that it would be too late for anybody to do anything. Matt came out, checked a few things, and told me he thought the Service Department could get it repaired and get me back on the road that afternoon. Anthony Weaver, the technician who worked on my car, was able to complete the job in less than an hour, allowing me to head back home by 4pm.

Until 2006, I was a lifelong Toyota owner. I owned Toyotas over a 30-year period. I switched to Honda primarily because the salespeople I spoke to convinced me it was a better car, but the main reason I even considered other brands was because I was so unhappy with the service I received at the Toyota dealership in San Antonio. In the nearly four years I've owned my CR-V, I've only had to bring it in for routine oil changes and this brake light issue. I have always had my car service at Gillman Honda of San Antonio and have always been happy with the service I've received.

Please tell Matt and Anthony how much I appreciated their assistance, and please let their bosses know that they've helped create a loyal Gillman customer. With the assistance of your Service Department, I hope to keep this CR-V for ten years or so, and then replace it with another Gillman Honda.

Bernard did an outstanding job of salesmanship.  There was no high pressure and was phoned after the sale and he answered all of my questions.  He was very compassionate and understanding.  I would go back to him.  Sergio, the head manager, was very knowledgeable and helpful.  The cleaning of the windows was unsatisfactory, but they took care of the issue right way; it was a smooth transaction.  I did not experience any back and forth negotiation, and was pleased with the promotion which was going on.  One thing, I wish my vehicle had the side moldings, just disappointed that my vehicle did not come with it.

Doug, the salesperson, was great.  The finance person was good, informative and helpful.  Gillman Honda of San Antonio is low pressure, helpful, and told me everything in advance.  Comparing Gillman to other dealers in the area is like night and day.  I will recommend and purchase again from Gillman in a heartbeat.  Honda's are easy choices with low, medium, and high end vehicles which is why I purchased and I'm happy with my purchase!

Gentlemen; My wife and I were southbound from our home in McKinney, en route to Brownsville for a four-day hunting vacation trip. As I passed through San Marcos,we stopped to fill up with gas. About 10 miles down the road, an engine light came on that indicated we might have a problem with our emission control system. When we saw your dealership along I-35, we stopped. Our vehicle only had about 5,000 miles on it and we were afraid we might be stuck there. We were greeted and taken care of by Matthew Gornall. I think our service stop there was the best experience I have ever had getting my car serviced, and considering I'm 62, that's saying a lot. Matt listened and realized we were just passing through. He advised us that if anything caused them to have to keep our car overnight, my Honda extended warranty would provide a rent car so we could get back to a hotel to wait. He then took us, and our two chihuahuas, to your customer waiting area and made us comfortable for a short wait. Within 30 minutes, he was back an told us the problem was very minor and explained that we could take it in when we got home. He completely erased our fears of pending problems with the SUV. We couldn't have asked for better service. Not only was your dealership very nice with a comfortable waiting area, but every individual employee we encountered displayed the same friendly, caring attitude as Matt. This is my first Honda after a lifetime of Chevy Tahoes and Suburbans. I was impressed by the dealership in Frisco where we purchased the Pilot, and then we were blown away by the great experience at your shop. My husband and I recently purchased a new Honda Accord sedan at Gillman Honda in Schertz. We were greeted by a very, very nice young man, whose name was Cody Brune. This young man treated us like he had known us all our lives, was very informative, courteous and, well, just wonderful to talk to. And since the purchase of our new car, we've been back a couple of times, and this young man continues to be just as polite and willing to help, not only us, but from what we saw, treated other people with the same respect. Gillman Honda should be proud to have Cody Brune working for them. My husband and I have recommended several people to Gillman Honda and to ask for Cody Brune. The other folks we talked to were Frank Castillo and Issac. Excellent dealership and outstanding people! We were very impressed and we love our car. I wanted to share with you one of the reasons I have been a customer of Gillman Honda for many years. Last week I was on my way to meet my daughter at Methodist Hospital Children's Emergency Room. When I stopped to get gas, I could not open the cap to the gas tank. As I had my 120,000-mile maintenance performed at Gillman the previous Wednesday, I thought something had not been reconnected. I raced to your dealership and told Matt, who had been the service writer. He was able to open the cap, find the loose spring and, with Tony's help, repair the problem within minutes, and I was on my way.
My granddaughter was admitted with viral meningitis from some unknown source and spent the next week in the hospital intermediate care ward. She was just released and is doing well.
How do you say thank you for this kind of service? Those gentlemen's kindness touched two families that Saturday. The dealership was busy and they certainly could have made me wait. How fortunate you and I are to be able to deal with such great guys.
